St John's College Medicine Interview

Medicine at University of Oxford is interviewed at college level, but the selection criteria are common to every college and a central shortlist is used — so this page covers the shared format and what is genuinely specific to St John's College.

How your college affects the interview

  • Medicine interviews are held online for 2027 entry, whichever colleges you are seen by.
  • You are interviewed at two colleges — your chosen college (or one allocated to you, if you made an open application) plus a second allocated at random. Some applicants are given a third interview because another college wants to consider them.
  • Selection criteria are identical across all colleges and a single central shortlist is used, so applying to a "less competitive" college gives no real advantage.
  • Roughly 425 of about 1,150 Medicine applicants are interviewed; the outcome is released via UCAS on 12 January 2027.
